With the initiatives of Sakarya Commodity Exchange (STB) and the support of the International Agriculture and Food Confederation (TARIMKON), drone spraying has started in order to facilitate hazelnut production in the city and increase its efficiency. Drone spraying, which can be done more cost-effectively than traditional methods, not only saves water, cost and time, but also prevents possible injuries to producers who have to work on rough terrain. Within the scope of informing the farmers in Sakarya, more than 10 fields have been sprayed with drones so far. ZIHA, which is more affordable for farmers than spraying done by hand or with construction equipment, has started to be preferred by producers.
"I THINK IT WILL BE VERY USEFUL"
STB Chairman of the Board Adem Sari explained that they attach great importance to agriculture as the stock market. Stating that technology is constantly developing in the world and it is necessary to keep up with this technology in agriculture, Sari noted that they started spraying with drones within the framework of their cooperation with TARIMKON. Stating that the works are carried out successfully, Sari said, "The cost of everything is now very high. As long as we keep up with technology, we will go much further in agriculture than other countries. I think that spraying with drones will be very beneficial in terms of both the diesel cost and the branches in the hazelnut orchards." he said. Sari added that they received positive feedback from the farmers.
"WE MAKE THE MEDICINE APPLIED IN TWO HOURS WITH THE TRACTOR, WITH THE ZIHA'S, IN 15-20 MINUTES"
ZIHA operator Serkan Basar also stated that they are spraying with drones with 10, 20 and 30 liter tanks. Stating that they were able to deliver the drug to the lowest branch of the tree, Basar said that both solid and liquid fertilizer application could be made with the drone. Noting that 600 liters of medicine, which can be applied in two hours with a tractor with the traditional method, can be made in 15-20 minutes with ZIHAs, Basar said, "ZIHA is an innovation in itself. It saves both labor force, time and water." said. Stating that they can spray an area of approximately 20 decares in 15 minutes with a warehouse, Basar said, "The devices divide a water droplet into forty macros. That's why they stick the pure form of the drug on the leaf. The devices have autonomous flight, we first analyze plants with drones with 6 cameras. How many kilograms of hazelnuts in a hazelnut quarry." Let's not think of it only as hazelnuts; our drones are working in crops, paddy, wheat and all grain products." used the phrase. TARIMKON Chairman Hakan Yüksel stated that as a federation, they use technology to increase productivity in agriculture, and that agricultural spraying is carried out with unmanned aerial vehicles, and that they tell the manufacturers the difference between traditional methods.
"I BELIEVE THIS WORK IS USEFUL"
Producer Alaattin Pasa Kaba also stated that he thinks spraying with drones will be more beneficial than traditional methods. Stating that he believes drones will make the work of farmers easier on sloping areas, Kaba said, "I think that drones will make serious contributions to people's lives in the world and in terms of agriculture. That's why I believe this study is beneficial." said. Pointing out that regional spraying will increase with the sharing of technical reports, Kaba said, "I think that the work of the farmers will be easier, the costs will decrease, and it will make a serious contribution to both hazelnut production and quality." used the phrase.
